FW. H. "Pete" Johnson, Jr., 65-year-old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 in the Crystal Wood Village. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Dirks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

William Hopkins Johnson, Jr. was born on Jan. 12, 1943 in Woodward, Okla. to William Hopkins and Marion Faith (Ward) Johnson. Pete was reared in Woodward and attended the Woodward schools. He went to work for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company as a route driver. Pete then went to work for the City of Woodward and worked for 21 years, retiring in 2001 due to ill health. After his retirement, Pete enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his faithful friend Corky. Pete was an avid OU fan and enjoyed watching the Sooners play.

Pete was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodward. He was baptized on March 15, 1953.

He is survived by two sisters, Ann Hohweiler and husband Ron of Woodward; Regina White and husband Gordon of Sharon; brother-in-law, Wade Lambel of Woodward; sister-in-law JoAnn Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska; several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Deane Lambel, Marion Rozetta Johnson and one brother George Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
