Obituary

Leila Triplett, 70 year old Mooreland resident, died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 in the St. Mary's Mercy Hospital in Enid. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend Tony Barros officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Leila Berniece (Cooley) Triplett was born on April 11, 1930 in Woodward, Oklahoma the daughter of John Lloyd and Eula LaVerne (Dauphin) Cooley. Leila was raised on the family farm north of Quinlan. Leila attended the Enterprise county school and Quinlan High School. She spent much of her adult life in Colorado. Leila was a homemaker and a very active member of her church.

She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Hopkins and husband Louis Spain of San Diego, California; Renee Harrell and husband Alan of England; two sons, Rick Hopkins and wife Jenny of Woodward; Rod Geiger and wife Lenice of Montrose, Colorado; her mother Eula Davis of Mooreland; two brothers, Burrel and Bill Cooley, both of Oregon; two uncles, Chet Dauphin of Mooreland, Fontaine Cooley of Guymon; four grandchildren, Jason Hopkins, David Geiger, Shelli and Heather Harrell; and several other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ralph Triplett and her father Lloyd Cooley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Hospital Hospice with the funeral home acting as custodian.
