LeRoy Tune, 74-year-old Waynoka resident died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 in Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church, Mooreland, Okla. with the Rev. John Curtis and Gordon Lawson officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the U. S. Army, Ft. Sill, Okla. in the Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward. Billings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert "LeRoy" Tune was born on Dec. 25, 1933 in Woodward, Okla. He was the son of William Reuben and Jennilee May (Wyatt) Tune. He attended a country school, Ft. Supply and Woodward schools, graduating in 1952. LeRoy worked for the VanDorn Ranch during high school and the Cooper Ranch after graduation. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany until he was honorably discharged. On July 6, 1956, he was married to Maxine Alexander in Mooreland. They made their home in Woodward. In 1962, they moved to Mooreland where LeRoy worked as a carpenter building homes. LeRoy started his own business, Tune Builders in 1972 and retired in 1983. In August of 1998, he and Maxine moved to Waynoka where they have resided since that time.

LeRoy and Maxine enjoyed their grandchildren, camping in Colorado and riding at the dunes in Waynoka. At the age of 60, he learned to snow ski.

Survivors include his wife Maxine of the home; three sons, Steve Tune and wife Betty, of Woodward; Chuck Tune and wife Susan of Waynoka; Shawn Tune and wife Lesa of Mooreland; two daughters, Peggy Broce and husband Everett of Mooreland; Sheri Tune and fiancee Kendall Widick of Woodward; three half-brothers, Roger Ruttman and wife Tressia; Wendel Ruttman and wife Twila: Dale Ruttman and wife LaVonda all of Woodward; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William Tune Jr.
