Clyde Kenneth James Vaughn, 85, retired Cessna Aircraft Co., employee, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002. Visitation will take place at Broadway Mortuary; service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wichita.
Mr. Vaughn was born May 29, 1916 in Harmon, Okla., to the late Wesley and Maggie Mae Vaughn. He attended school in Sharon, Okla. He worked for the Railway Express Co. in Roswell, N.M., Amarillo and Borger, Texas and Woodward, Okla. He and his family moved to Fargo, Okla. and then to Howard, Kan. in 1949. He worked at Beech Aircraft Corp. and Cessna Aircraft Co. The family moved to Wichita in 1963 and he continued to work at Cessna.
He became an owner of a rental property in Wichita and started Rental Owners Association. He was also a member of C.P.O. (Citizen's Police Organization). He became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was on the Lutheran School Board. He taught Sunday School, was Sunday School superintendent and was chairman of the Evangelism Committee.
Vaughn was preceded in death by daughter, Patsy Marie.
Survivors are wife of 63 years, Vera P.; daughter, Claudetta P. Cramp of Wichita; sons, Kenneth, Terry both of Wichita, Charles of Shell Knob, Mo.; sister, Ruth Caldwell of Waynoka, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three nephews of Oklahoma
