Wells Rites Set Friday
Funeral services for J. L. "Roy" Wells, 83 year old retired farmer and a resident of three miles south of Woodward, will be held at 1-:30 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Stecher Mortuary. Dr. Wilford Jones, pastor of the First United Methodist church will officiate and burial will be under the direction of the Stecher Mortuary will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Joseph LeRoy Wells, was born at Mankato, Jewell county, Kans., on January 9, 1885, and died early Wednesday in Woodward Memorial Hospital following a short illness. On February 27, 1907, he married Bertha Aldridge of Mankato. Later in 1907 they moved to a farm south of Woodward and they have made their home here since that time. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors besides his wife, Bertha, of the home are one son, Ernest Wells, Woodward, a brother, Arley Wells, Woodward, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
