Funeral services for Jim Williams, 84-year-old Woodward resident, will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Garden Chapel of Johnsonís Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Woodward. The Rev. Donnetta Hunter will officiate. Interment will be in the Munice Cemetery in Dewey County.

James Thomas Williams was born June 13, 1923 at Canton, Okla., to George and Ida (Tolle) Williams. He grew up at Seiling and then served his country in the U. S. Navy and then in the U. S. Air Force. He then resided in Oklahoma City and Idaho for a time. On Nov. 23, 1962, he was married to Ethyl Kent in Boise, Idaho and they made their home in Woodward. Jim had worked for the City of Woodward and for Wal-Mart.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Woodward.

Mr. Williams died Dec. 30, 2007 at the Woodward Regional Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999 and by his parents.

He is survived by a daughter, Velma Wilson of Woodward; two sons, Dewey LeRoy Williams of LaJunta, Colo. and Jimmy Williams and his wife Monnette of Woodward; a brother Howard Williams and a sister Rhoda Hopkins, both of Spokane, Wash; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
