Beaver County, Oklahoma
Created in 1890 from Public Lands and was one of the orginal counties. It was named for the town which is the county seat and its principal stream, which in turn was the English translation of the Spanish word "nutria" which was given to this stream because of the numerous beaver dams on the small streams which were tributary to it.
Clerk of Courts has marriage, divorce and civil court records from 1890;
probate records from 1891.
