Blaine County, Oklahoma
Created in 1892, original county. It was named for Hon. James G. Blaine, congressman, United States Senator, Secretary of State, and Presidential nominee, on the nomination of his devoted admirer, editor Thompson B. Ferguson of the Watonga Republican, who was afterward governer of Oklahoma.
