Canadian County, Oklahoma

Created in 1889 from original county (Wichita-Caddo Lands). It was named after the river which in turn is supposed to have been named by the early explorers of its lower valley, who were traders and trappers from Canada.

Clerk of Courts has land records;
State Vital Records has birth and death records, marriage records from 1890, divorce, probate and civil court records from 1900, voting records from 1909.
