John Abernathy In Guthrie

February 22, 1906--Lawton News RepublicanLawton News Republican"" John R. Abernathy, recently appointed United States Marshal for Oklahoma, is here today accompanied by his wife and his brother, Albert Abernathy, who will hold a position under the Marshall here. The new marshal closed end lease for two residences in the elite portion of the city, one for himself and family and the other for his brother. They will move here in the near future, so that Abernathy will be installed by the time he is to take over the office on April 1. When asked today how soon he would move, Abernathy laughing lady replied: “It won’t take long; all I’ve got is nine greyhounds, one pony and five children.”
