Kingfisher Reformer
October 6, 1904

The Anti-Horse Thief Association of Indian Territory will meet at Checotah, Creek nation, October 26, 27, and 28. It is expected that over 500 delegates from various parts of the territory will be present. A street parade will be a feature of the meeting and other means of entertaining the guests are being arranged. The Indian Territory association is making a strong effort to breakaway from the organization in Oklahoma. Both would remain subordinate to the same national organization, but the Indian Territory members wish to form an organization of their own. Oklahoma has been making a strong effort to control the Indian Territory association and to hit most of the latter members objections. H. A. Harrison, territorial treasurer of the association, who lives at Checotah, says that a strong fight will be made at the next national association meeting by the delegates from Indian Territory for recognition of a separate organization from Oklahoma.
