Ponca CityA week ago a horse belonging to Ezra Maple, strayed off. After it had been gone for some time, Mr. Maple started a fellow who was in his employ out to make a diligent search for he missing animal. After having been gone a few hours the fellow returned and reported that an Indian in the Ponca reservation had taken up the horse and was holding it for the owner, but must have $2 to pay for his trouble, seed, etc. Thinking this an easy way out of the difficulty Mr. Maple put the man on another horse and giving him the $2 told him to go and get the stray. Mr. Maple now offers $50 reward for the capture of the thief and the return of the horses. |
