Guthrie, I. T.--Indian Agent Patrick, Sheriff Connelly of the Sac and Fox nation and Deputy Marshal Williams went to the place where Marshal George Thornton was murdered, and were fired upon by the same gang of outlaws who killed Thornton. After a lively battle the outlaws were routed. a native living there said that the outlaws were organized and were patrolling the entire section of country and that they have a description of every officer in the Territory and would shoot them on site.
