Wichita, Kansas--Jacob Pecora, a noted Italian outlaw, at Kingfisher today, shortly after noon, shot Jacob Cline through the left breast, death resulting within an hour. it is not known that there was any trouble between the two men, in fact, it cannot be establilshed that Cline knew Pecora, and the opinion is that some one hired Pecora to kill Cline. The shooting occured on the corner of Main and Porter streets near the center of town, and nnot a word passed between the two men. Pecora tried to get away, having a horse hitched a block away, but marshal Christy was near and caught him, and, while trying to escape, Pecora fired once at the marhsal without effect. he will be brought here to avoid lynching.
