Many Take Advantage of Enlist-
ment Privilege; Max Cochrell
Goes to Camp Tuesday;
Another Batch Classified
"Logan county's original quota under the registration was 194, but as near as I can figure it, Logan county has furnished more than 400 boys to the national and regular army since the draft was first made, " said Chief Clerk Johns of the exemption board today. "The boys discovered early that it was vastly more to their advantage to select the service than to have it selected for them, " he added.
Another Guthrie boy, Max Cochrell, enlisted today in the infantry division and will go to the Greenville, N. C., training camp, Tuesday.
There are now open to these men in the m4edical officers training camp at Fort Riley, the infantry at Camp Green North Carolina, the aviation branch at Vancouver the engineer corps at Vancouver and the bricklayers branch.
Application for enlistment in these branches are coming every day to the west side board.
