Pvt. James Robert Smith

Received preliminary training at Virginia Military Institute, Fort George Mead, Maryland and was later sent to Fort Benning, Ga., where he is now stationed in army specialized training.

He attended schools at Shawnee, Guthrie and Washington D. C. and was employed at the Lintz Department Store, before moving to Washington, where he was inducted into the army in July, 1943.

He is 18 years of age and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay R. Smith, Washington, D. C.
