L.C.I.(L) 85 listing heavily to starboard after being shelled on the Easy Red section and the Dog Green beached of Omaha Beach. The soldiers standing on the high side (port) were put ashore on L.C.V.P.'s from the large attack transports. The 85 then proceeded to the Coast Guard Samuel Chase to off load all our wounded and most of our dead prior to the ship rolling over and sinking.
