I have his birth in 1927 which makes him awful young in 1944 when he was killed in Normandy. Maybe I have his birth date wrong, but I think it is right. This photo must have been taken just shortly before he was killed as I don't think he'd even finished training -- he'd just been in the Army a few months at the most.
