J.F. Burleigh died at his home in this city Sunday morning, of concussion of the brain, the result of being thrown from a buggy. He was returning from Enterprise Friday evening about six o'clock and when near the limits of the town of Lostine his team became frightened and ran away. The evening was very dark and stormy, and running along the street the buggy collided with a wagon which was standing in the street and he was thrown out, lighting on his head and was rendered unconscious. He remained in that condition until his death Sunday morning. Dr. Seely called and rendered all aid that could be given, but the concussion of the brain had been so great that human skill was unavailing.
The funeral services were held from the family residence Monday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Chandler, officiating, followed by the interment in the Lostine cemetery by the faternal orders of Knights of Maccabees and the Modern Woodmen of America, of which the deceased was a member. - Ledger Democrat.
