These are obituaries that I and many others have donated. Mine were transcribed from old newspapers. I got the microfilms through interlibrary loan from the University of Oregon. There are also many others who have donated. If there is no contributor on it, it is something I have transcribed. If there is no link on the contributor's name, they have no further information about that person. It is someone extra on a copy of their families information.

The death of Mrs. Hannah Chaplin occurred in La Grande Saturday morning, March 25, 1905. Deceased was 82 years and 6 months old.

Mrs. Hannah Chaplin crossed the plains to Oregon in 1854, settling in Marion county, and in 1863 moved to La Grande, in which city she resided until the time of her death. Being one of the early pioneers of this county, she had a large circle of friends who are left to mourn her loss. In this city she leaves two nephews, Wm. and W.L. Arnold, who were at her bedside at the time of her death.
