Mrs. Anna Colt, a resident of the Grande Ronde valley for more than 45 years, passed away in Portland yesterday after an illness of one and one-half years. She was the wife of A. J. Colt, of Summerville. Mrs. Colt was born in California on Nov. 20, 1868. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, four children, May, Arleta and Brook Colt, of Portland, and Mrs. Ada Goss, of La Grande, and one sister, Mrs. Florence Irwin of Island City. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Snodgrass and Zimmerman chapel. Burial will be in the Summerville cemetery.

SUMMERVILLE (Special) - Funeral services for Asahel J. Colt, pioneer resident of this community, were held in the Snodgrass Funeral home Thursday afternoon, Rev. Gene Robinson officiating. Mrs. Chester Colt, Portland, was soloist, and she was accompanied by Mrs. Zelpha Colt Downing, also of Portland.
Casket-bearers were four grandsons, Tommy Hiatt, Bill, Bob and Ken Goss, and two grandsons-in-law, John Groupe and Larry Berglund.
Here from out-of-town for the service, were Mr. Colt's sister-in-law, Mrs. J. V. Colt and Mrs. Chester Colt, and his niece Mrs. Zelpha Colt Downing, all of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Vaden and daughter, Baker; Tom Hodgsen, Pendleton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Garbe, Jr., Touchet, Wash.

May Colt, 73, Dies; Services Saturday
Miss May Colt, 73, resident of 1601 Walnut St., died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniels Funeral Home and burial follows in Summerville cemetery.
Born in Summerville, Miss Colt had lived in Union County all her life. She was a 50-year member of Jewel Rebecca Lodge of Summerville and the Union County Historical Society.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Ada Goss and Mrs. Arleta Hiatt, both of La Grande; and 11 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Another Eastern Oregon pioneer passed on during the weekend, when Mrs. Phebe Brook Colt, a resident of Summerville for some 45 years, died in Portland Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the Summerville chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 7 with Snodgrass and Zimmerman in charge of arrangements. The services will be conducted by Rev. Paul DeF. Mortimore, of the Christian church, of which Mrs. Colt was a member. The body will arrive in La Grande tomorrow morning.
Mrs. Colt was born Dec. 7 1838 at Rhysussex, England and was 95 years seven months and 28 days of age at the time of death.
She moved to New York state when seven years of age, and was married to Joseph Hetzel Colt in 1863. They crossed the plains and located in Baker county, living in the Mormon basin. Then they moved to Summerville until 1908 when she moved to the Willamette valley following the death of her husband. She leaves three sons: A. J. of Summerville, and J. V. and C. T. Colt of Portland; a sister, Ada Maria Dean of Alliance, O.; seven grandchildren, including Mrs. M. J. Goss, Mrs. M. O. Hiatt and May Colt, of this valley, and nine great grandchildren.
