Sister of Wolf Creek Men Passes Sunday

Mrs. Anna Dale, Sister of Simonis Brothers, and Pioneer of North Powder, Passes in Baker.

North Powder. - Mrs. Anna Dale, sister of Simonis brothers and who came to the Wolf Creek district with her
parents in the pioneer days, died last Sunday, the last day of the year in Baker at the age of 73 years.  Mrs. Dale
was an invalid for some time but was critically ill but a short time before death.

The deceased was a native of Stevens Point, Wis., and as child accompanied her parents as emigrants to the
Oregon country and settled in Wolf Creek, west of North Powder.  She married Harvey Dale and moved to San
Francisco until her husband died there a few years ago.  In recent years she has lived in her home in Spring
Garden avenue.  She was a member of the Catholic church.

Mr. Dale is survived by a daughter, Mary, and a son, Dr. Harry Dale, who is a major in the medical division of the
United States army, both of whom reside in Washington, D. C; Mrs. Nice and Mrs. George Harrison, and five
brothers, Matt, James, Jacob, Louis, and John Simonis, all of North Powder.

Funeral services were to be held at 9 a. m. Thursday in St. Francis cathedral, Baker, burial to be in Mt. Hope
cemetery, under the direction of West and company.

Death Of Former Baker Man Told
 
A retired U. S. Army colonel died Nov. 14 at San Francisco, it was reported today.
 
Col. Harry L. Dale, a member of the American Medical Association and Retired officers Association was a native
of Baker.
 
Services were scheduled to be held this afternoon at San Francisco with interment to follow at the San Francisco
National Cemetery.
 
Contributions to Col. Harry L. Dale Scholarship Fund at the University of Oregon are preferred.
