Mrs. Haefer was born Feb. 20, 1897, in North Powder, the daughter of Mathias and Matilda (Harrison) Simonis.
She was a member of the Cove Calvary Baptist Church and had resided in Cove for the past 60 years.
Survivors include her son, Carson H. Haefer, Cove; brothers Ernest
Simonis of North Powder, Laurence Simonis
of Milwaukie, Ore.; sisters Eunice Smith of North Powder, Ellen Timpy
of Union and Ethel Follett of Elgin; a
grandson, Roger Haefer, Portland; and two great-grandchildren, other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cove Calvary
Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Hills
officiating. Concluding service and vault interment will follow
in the Cove Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are being directed by Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel of La Grande.
