Mr. Harrison was born in Cass County, Indiana, coming to Oregon
at an early age, and he lived 69 years in Union
county.
He was unmarried and his survivors are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday from the Daniels Funeral home,
with burial in the North Powder cemetery. Rev.
Gene Robinson officiated.

PIONEER PASSES
Mrs. J. Harrison Dead at the Age of Seventy-One
After an illness of less than a week Mrs. Louisa Ellen Harrison aged 71 years, died at her home in North Powder at 10 o'clock, Wednesday morning of this week. Death was due to influenza followed by an attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Harrison, whose maiden name was Roach, was born in Indiana where she spent her girlhood and was married to Jefferson Harrison. In 1879 the couple moved to Missouri, and about seven years later the family came to Oregon and settled near North Powder on the ranch now occupied by O.H. Sloan. After spending nineteen years on this place Mr. and Mrs. Harrison moved to North Powder where they have made their home for the past fourteen years. The aged husband and nine children mourn the loss of the wife and mother. The sons and daughters are Chas. C. Harrison, Mrs. Clara Carnes, Matilda Simonis, George, Ira and Bennett Harrison and Mrs. Myrtle Bauer all of North Powder and Joseph Harrison of McCune, Mrs. Jane Lockin of Haines, all of whom were present at the funeral service. Another son died here about twelve years ago. There are thirty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren. deceased had been a member of the Methodist church at North Powder for the past twelve years.
Funeral services were held at the home and the city cemetery where the body was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon.

Thomas Jefferson Harrison, pioneer resident of North Powder died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Jake Simonis last Thursday night at 8 o'clock at the age of 83. Mr. Harrison had not been in the best of health for a number of years. He was a member of the G.A.R. and his passing marks again the thinning ranks of this organization.
Mr. Harrison is survived by five sons, Charles, John, George, Ira and Bennett, and two daughters, Mrs. Jake Simonis of this city and Mrs. Henry Locken of Haines.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Saturday afternoon, Miss Blokland officiating. Interment was in the city cemetery.

Thomas Harrison
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday
at the North Powder Cemetery with the Rev. Hank
Albrecht officiating. High Valley VFW Post #4060 will present
the flag. Friends may call for viewing today until 7
p.m. at Payne Family Mortuary.
Mr. Harrison was born Aug. 22, 1920, at North Powder to George
Thomas and Josephine Ann (Simonis)
Harrison. On March 7, 1942, he married Mildred Daron at La Grande.
He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years, employed primarily
in the signal department. He helped install
the lights and gates from The Dalles to Huntington. During World
War II he served in the U.S. Army in the 817th
Tank Destroyer Unit for three years. He was a member of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Union and was a
charter member of the Union Pacific Jr. Old Timers. He was also
a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars High
Valley Post #4060 where he loved to play bingo. He loved to go
hunting, fishing, and camping and was a
photographer. He also enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Mildred of Union; daughters and sons-in-law
Sandra and Art Spence of Elsie, Cheryl
and Art Duff of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Barbara and Bob Young of La Grande;
sisters Ruth Hunt and Martha
Altenburg of La Grande; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Brothers Albert, Homer and Eldon; sisters Nellie, Grace, Barbara
and Anna and a great-granddaughter died
earlier.

Wilma Florence (BLYSTONE) HARRISON
Wilma HARRISON, 76, of Rt. 2, Box 2714, died Tuesday at Grande Ronde Hospital.
Mrs. HARRISON was born April 10, 1898, at Neago, Ill., the daughter of C. H. and Margaret BLYSTONE. She moved to La Grande with her parents in 1901. On Oct. 4, 1914, she married Joe HARRISON at La Grande. This past Oct. 4 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They have lived on their ranch all of their married lives.
Mrs. HARRISON was a member of the La Grande United Methodist Church, past president of the La Grande Country Club and a member of the duplicate contract bridge club.
Survivors besides her husband include nephew Ray CROSSEN of La Grande and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p. m. at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul O. Jewell officiating. Vault interment will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
