Ila, the twelve year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Herbert, who reside on a farm east of Haines, died at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening at the Hot Lake hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past month.

The death of the young girl saddened the pupils of the local school, where she had been a student in the fifth grade. Pupils of this and the sixth grade, together with Mrs. Martha Zimmerman, teacher, will attend the funeral to be held at Union tomorrow afternoon. The Herberts were former residents of that part of Union county.

The deceased is survived by her parents and an older brother, Leonard.
