Carl Eugene Millering, 94, La Grande, died Wednesday, April 11 at the Mountain Vista Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Daniels Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Scott Pricer of the First Christian Church will officiate. Masonic services will be handled by the La Grande Masonic Lodge. Concluding services and vault interment will follow at the Island City Cemetery.
Those who wish may make contributions in the memory of Mr. Millering to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or the Memorial Fund of the First Christian Church in care of Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Millering was born on Nov. 2, 1895 at La Grande to John Henry and Catherine Ann (Curteman) Millering. He graduated from La Grande High School with the Class of 1917. On Feb. 7, 1918 he married Berdillie Gray at La Grande. In September of 1918 he enlisted in the Army. He was a partner and salesman for Inland Machinery until he retired in 1960.
Mr. Millering was a member of the La Grande First Christian Church, a life member of the La Grande Masonic Lodge, various York Rite bodies, the Scottish Rite Baker Consistory; the Al Kader Temple in Portland; the Union County Shrine Club; the Hope Chapter No. 13; the La Grande Elks Lodge; and the La Grande American Legion Post; and 40-8.
Survivors include his wife Berdillie Millering, La Grande; daughter LaVeda Millering Lighthall, Yakima, Wash.; three grandchildren and other relatives. A son, Grant E. Millering, and four brothers and three sisters died earlier.

Della Millering, La Grande, died Wednesday at Valley View Manor. She was 90.
Mrs. Millering was born Dec. 2, 1892, in Perry, Mo., the daughter of James and Damietta (Long) Kindred. She came to the Grande Ronde Valley in 1905. She married Frank Earl Millering on May 31, 1914, in La Grande.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1930 and a son, Avery Millering in 1975.
Mrs. Millering was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Darlene) Gibson, and a daughter-in-law, Cinda Millering, both of La Grande, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and other relatives.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Hart of the First Christian Church officiating.
Friends may call at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel today from 4-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Della Millering to the First Christian Church memorial fund in care of Daniels Chapel.

Frances Millering succumbs at age 93
Frances M. Millering, 93, Hillsboro, died Nov. 15, 1989, at Forest View Care Center in Forest Grove.
Graveside services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) in Island City Cemetery near La Grande, with the Rev. Norman Shrumm of First Presbyterian Church of La Grande officiating.
Interment in the cemetery was to follow.
Mrs. Millering was born April 16, 1896, in Five Points, Ore., a daughter of John and Minnie Banks Hills. Her family members were pioneer residents of the La Grande area.
On Dec. 9, 1917, she married Jay M. Millering in La Grande. He died in 1932.
Mrs. Millering lived in La Grande until moving to Portland in 1940. She had lived in Hillsboro since 1948.
She worked in several occupations during her life, including a school teacher in a small rural community, a deputy sheriff in Union County and a store manager. She also worked as a teller at the Uptown branch of First National Bank in Portland before retiring in 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Rundell, Hillsboro, and a nephew, Keith Bryant, Anaheim, Calif.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Fowler and Gertrude Bryant.
Mrs. Millering was interested in the care of pets and the family suggests memorial contributions to the Dove Lewis Memorial, 1894 NW Pettygrove, Portland 97209.

Grant E. Millering of 409 Sunset Drive died Saturday, July 10th at the Alpine Meadows Golf Course at Enterprise, Oregon. He was 49 years old.
Millering was born on November 4, 1922 in La Grande, the son of Eugene and Berdillie Millering. He attended schools in La Grande and graduated from La Grande High School with the class of 1940. He attended Eastern Oregon College for two years. In 1942 he enlisted in the Navy Reserve and was called to active duty in 1943. He attended flight school while in the Navy and was released from active duty in 1947 with the rank of Lt. Commander.
After his return from the service he was associated with the Outdoor Stores in Pendleton, La Grande and Baker. On January 28, 1948 he was married to Bernadine Hungerford in La Grande. In October of 1948 he entered Dental School in Seattle, Wash. In 1950 he purchased the La Grande Dental Lab, now known as the B. & G. Dental Lab.
Mr. Millering served on the City Commission for eight years, retiring as its president in 1971. He was a member of the La Grande City Planning Commission, La Grande Elks Lodge No. 433, Eagles Lodge No. 259, La Grande Country Club, La Grande Lodge No. 41 AF & AM, Eastern Oregon Commandary No. 6 Knights Templar, Union County Shrine Club, Royal Arch Masons No. 9, Al Kadar Temple, and was a skiing instructor at Spout Springs for seven years.
He was a very avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, golfing, fishing, hunting, and flying. He was a member of the Blue Mountain Boys, which is an organization which represents the city at parades and special events.
Survivors include his wife Bernadine; daughters, Carol, Celia and Caren,; parents Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Millering, all of La Grande; sister, LaVeda Millering, Yakima, Washington; and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church of La Grande with Rev. Gordon Milldrum officiating. Vault interment will follow in the veterans' section of Grandview Cemetery.
Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Grant E. Millering to the Oregon Heart Fund or the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
Funeral services are under direction of Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.

Services Tomorrow For Mrs. Millering
Katherine Ann Millering died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday night at her home, 1810 Adams ave., after a short illness.
Mrs. Millering was born April 12, 1865, in Jersey county, Ill., and was 73 years, 4 months and 11 days old. She had resided in Grande Ronde valley the past 51 years.
She was married to John Henry Millering, May 1, 1883, in Vernon Co., Missouri. Her husband died Aug. 27, 1921.
There were nine children of which four boys, Charles, Frank, Jay and Roy, have preceded her in death. The following children survive her: Bessie A. Harvey, La Grande; Eugene, La Grande; Ruth Scott, Ontario, Ore.; Chester, Burns; and Lucille of Longview, Wash. The following brothers survive John of Rainier, Oregon, and A. H. of Ontario, Calif. There are 12 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held from the Snodgrass and Zimmerman funeral home, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Island City cemetery. Roy Titus of the Christian church in which she was a member will conduct the service.

'Cinda' Millering, resident of FG
FOREST GROVE - Graveside services were held Friday afternoon for Marjorie "Cinda" J. Millering, 63, Forest Grove.
Mrs. Millering died May 6, 1987, at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro following a short illness.
Friday's services were held in Hillcrest Cemetery in La Grande, with the Rev. Jack Hart, pastor of the First Christian Church in La Grande, officiating.
Concluding rites and interment followed.
Marjorie "Cinda" Jean Millering was born June 23, 1923, in North Powder, a daughter of Horace and Marie Miller Belden. She was raised and educated in La Grande.
On Dec. 9, 1940, she married Henry Millering in Weiser, Idaho and they lived in La Grande. Her husband died in May of 1975 in La Grande.
Mrs. Millering worked at the Rexall drug Store in La Grande from 1958 until her retirement in 1985. She moved to Forest Grove last August to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the La Grande First Christian Church.
Survivors include on son, Farrold Willering [sic - Millering], Elgin; one daughter, Mrs. James (Judy) Rhodes, Gaston; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Dallas Belden, Chehalis, Wash., and Quinton Beldon [sic - Belden], Corvallis; and two sisters, Doris Clark, Baker, Calif., and Mary Jane Cocking, Colfax, Wash.
Fuiten-Rose Mortuary Chapel of Forest Grove was in charge of local arrangements.
