A Historical Map of Union County, Oregon, 1861-1961

This map was hand-illustrated by John Evans, respected Union County historian and author of "Powerful Rocky". With his permission, we are now reprinting and making his detailed map available to the public. The map includes such details as: school districts, pioneer and Indian roads and trails, cemeteries, mountains, borders of valleys, former areas of marshlands, mines, historic sites and markers, railroads, abandoned grade of proposed Union-Walla Walla railroad, principal modern highways/roads, streams, lakes and reservoirs and graves along the old Oregon Trail. This map vividly complements Bernal Hug's History of Union County and nine supplements; and D.H. Stearns' 1882 Oregon Papers & Sketches of Union and Baker Counties publication.
