Marriage

Miss Christie E. McDonald, the eldest daughter of county commissioner John McDonald, was united in marriage to Rev. H.F. Reasoner last Thursday, the ceremony taking place at the residence of the bride's parents near Summerville. Mr. and Mrs. Reasoner will reside at Snohomish, Washington, where Mr. Reasoner is pastor of the presbyterian church.

A Wedding in Cove

Mr. Walter Rees and Miss Birdie White were united in matrimony last Sunday at the home of the groom's father by Rev. Van Dusen. The groom is a son of Hon. M.B. Rees and the bride is a sister of Char. A. White and a former student of the Normal College here. They have many friends and acquaintances here who join us in wishing them a long wedded life of happiness and prosperity.

Relling - Steiger

Paul Relling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Relling of Muddy Creek section, and Carolyn Steiger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Steiger of Baker, were married last Sunday morning. Both young folks are known in this section.

Reuter - McCormick

The marriage of Miss Madeline McCormick of Kansas City, Mo, and Mr. Walter Reuter of La Grande Oregon, was celebrated Monday eve., Nov. 23rd, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. McCormick, in Kansas City, Rev., R.L. Davidson of Sedalia, officiating. Previous to the ceremony Miss Luella Maas sang 'Annie Laurie," the wedding march being played by the bride's sister, Miss Mildred McCormick.

The couple unattended proceeded together to the living room, where the ceremony was performed before the large front window which was banked with southern smilax and palms. A basket of pink roses and lilies was used on the dining table.

The bride's gown was of white crepe de chine trimmed with valencienes lace and tulle. She carried a shower of bride's roses and lillies of the valley.

Mr. and Mrs. Reuter left at once on their wedding journey. They will be at home in La Grande Ore., after Dec. 15th.

Mr. and Mrs. Reuter are well known in the Grande Ronde valley, where many relatives and friends will welcome them to their new home.

At the residence of the bride's parents near Cove, on Sunday Nov. 5, 1899. Miss Mae Peal and Mr. Geo. Rinehart. After the wedding dinner at the bride's family residence they drove out to the Sandridge where an elegant supper was prepared at the residence of the groom's parents. The happy couple have the best wishes of their Cove friends for their future welfare.

Announcement is made of the recent marriage of Miss Maude O'Bryant and Mr. Guy Roberts at Paul, Idaho. Mrs. Roberts is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse O'Bryant spending most of her life in this vicinity. The young couple expect to make their home in Paul.

A wedding of much interest and surprise was that of Miss Bonnie Severs and James Roberts. The ring service was read at high noon, Nov. 27 at the Episcopal church of Seattle. The bride is the daughter of O.T. Severs and one of our very popular girls. She has for many months been with the Todd Construction Co. of Tacoma. Mr. Roberts is head of the Traffic Department of the same company. The bride wore a beautiful suit of dark navy blue and hat of taupe and she also wore a corsage boquet of roses. The young couple will make their home in Tacoma.

ROBERTSON - COUCH

The marriage of Mr. James E. Robertson to Miss Ethel Couch occurred at the home of the bride's mother in this city Wednesday afternoon June 28, 1905. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S.A. Parker, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The wedding was a very quiet affair and only the immediate relatives were present.

The groom is a well known young man of this city and holds the position of head bookkeeper in the office of the Elgin Lumber Co. The bride is one of Elgin's most highly respected young ladies and is a daughter of Mrs. A.A. Couch. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson left on the vening train for a honeymoon trip to Portland and will be at home in Elgin after July 15.
