GEORGE ROBINSON PASSES AT BAKER

George H. Robinson, 73 year old Mesa Ariz., farmer and former La Grande resident, died in Baker suddenly Monday.

Funeral services will be at the Snodgrass Funeral Home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Gene Robinson will officiate and interment will be in City Cemetery.

Mr. Robinson was born in La Grande, Nov. 18, 1882. He spent much of his life in Oregon.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edith L. Robinson of Tempe, Ariz.; four sons, Wallace, Tempe Ariz., Eldon of Corona, Calif., Gene of Spokane, and Leslie of Pendleton; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Mae McCambridge of Prineville; one sister, Mrs. Mae West of La Grande; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One son, Harlin M. formerly of La Grande was killed in Las Vegas in 1954.

FUNERAL TODAY

The funeral for Geo. W. Robinson, will take place this afternoon from [the home?] at 2 o'clock, Rev. Van Nuys officiating. The interment will follow at the Masonic cemetery.

The deceased has been a resident of La Grande for the past third of a century and has been in poor health for several years.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, who was formerly Miss Susan Bay, and their children, Mrs. Ida Haug who now resides in Boise City, and Miss May of this city, and George who lives in Huntington.

The family have the deepest sympathy of a large number of friends in their sad hour of affliction.

Iola A. (Childers) ROBINSON

Iola A. Robinson, 69, 1955 Dallas Hwy. NW, died Friday in a local hospital.

Born in Cove, she was a graduate of Union High School in Union County and attended the University of Oregon. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Eastern Star, and was active as a church organist at First Baptist Church in Union. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June.

Survivors include her husband L. Irl; son, Don E. Salem; brother LeRoy Childers, Wallowa; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Coffeys mortuary, La Grande, and interment in Cove Cemetery, Cove. Local arrangements are under the direction of Barrick mortuary.

The family suggests contributions to First Baptist Church of Union Memorial Fund.

L. Irl Robinson
Nov. 2, 1904 - Oct. 6, 1988

L. Irl Robinson, 83, of Salem died Thursday in Salem.

He was born in Gordon, Texas. He lived in Cove from 1905 to 1919. He served in the Army from 1923 to 1924 and was middleweight boxing champion in the armed services. He married Iola Childers, June 8, 1928, in La Grande. He lived in Montana, Washington and California before coming to Salem in 1950. He moved to Union in 1976 and returned to Salem in 1978. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Salem, and was on the original board of directors at Capital manor. He was a retired insurance agent for Businessmen's Insurance Co.

Survivors include his son, Don E. of Union.

Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Union First Baptist Church memorial fund in care of Daniels Valley mortuary, P.O. Box 722, La Grande, 97850. S-J 10/7/88

Sarah Ann Robinson

Sarah Ann, beloved wife of A.R. Robinson, departed this life at the family residence in Cove, Oregon, at 10:45 on Wednesday night, Oct. 4th, 1889. The deceased was born in the state of Kentucky on April 6th, 1843 and came to Cove Sept. 13th, 1864 being among the earliest of the pioneers.

On July 9th, 1865, she was married in Cove to A.R. Robinson and they have ever since resided there. She was an earnest and sincere Christian loved by all who knew her, and was a member of the Baptist church for a number of years past. She leaves besides her husband the following nearest relatives to mourn her departure: her son Edward A. Robinson of Fletcher, Idaho and two daughters, Mrs. D.H. Lavne of Cove and Mrs. Anna Weaver of Lagrande; also a brother W.H. Weaver of Oakesdale, Washington and sister Mrs. Ellen Boswell of Enterprise who came last evening.

Mrs. Robinson has not been in good health for some time past and was taken sick about ten days ago with typhoid fever. For two or three days previous to her death, she was not expected to recover. The funeral takes place at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Baptist church and rev. W.H. Holloman is expected to be present to conduct the services. The entire community is in mourning and sympathy with the relatives of the deceased.

ROBINSON FUNERAL
SERVICES TODAY

Funeral services were held at the Snodgrass and Zimmerman mortuary this afternoon for Mrs. Susan E. Robinson, who passed away at 6 o'clock Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. K. West. The Rev. M. G. Tennyson of the Episcopal Church officiated. Burial took place in the Masonic cemetery.

Susan E. Bay was born Nov. 21 1852 in Wayne county, Iowa, and was 77 years and seven months of age. She was married May 18, 1871 to George W. Robinson and to this union there were four children born: Willie E. Who passed away at the age of six years; Ida C. Haug, of Mullen, Ida.; Mae M. West, of La Grande and George H. of Baker, Ore., also, six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Emma McKray, of Medford, Ore., and Mrs. Mary E. Goodnough of La Grande. A sister, Mrs. Isa Winkler, passed away on June 8 and a brother, David Bay, passed away Aug. 5, 1929. Her husband preceded her to the Great Beyond in 1903.
