Mr. S. C. Stewart, pres. of Lebanon National Bank, and Mrs. Lula Lewis, of Boise, Idaho. Bride widow of Dr. Lewis of Boise. Married Tuesday. [June 14, 1918 paper]

T. M. Jones, manager of Lebanon Cash Produce Co., married in Salem June 9, 1918, to Miss Carrie Palmer of Stayton. Ceremony in home of bride's brother, Fred McIntire. Bridge a cousin of Mrs. Thad Sterling. [June 14, 1918 paper]

Arthur Kelly of Harrisburg, and Miss Marie Densmore of Lebanon married Saturday in Albany. Bride daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Densmore; groom son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kelly of Thomas. [June 21, 1918 paper]

Miss Elizabeth Glaser of Lebanon and Roy A. Jaquith of Laurel, Wednesday of last week, in Christian church in Albany. Bride daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Glaser. [June 28, 1918 paper]

Obituaries:

Frank W. Reed, died Sunday, six miles south of Lebanon. Was chief packer of supplies for stationed police on guard duty in Alaska. Buried in Salem. Two daughters, no names mentioned. [June 7, 1918 paper]

Mrs. Ellazan Gale, died Sat. at Montesano, WA, brought here for burial at Brownsville near her father, James O. Elder. [June 7, 1918 paper]

Mrs. Bertha Gardner died May 27, 1918 at home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Galloway of Hillsboro. She married Archie E. Gardner of Lebanon in 1915. They lived in Otis, CO. Husband, two children, three step children, no names mentioned. Interment in Hillsboro. [June 7, 1918 paper]

John A. McKnight died June 22, 1918 in Bellingham, WA. Came to Oregon in 1862 and settled on claim west of Lebanon. He was an uncle of the Fronk brothers of Lebanon and also Judge D. B. McKnight of Albany. Buried in Masonic cemetery. Survived by a wife and daughter, no names mentioned. [June 21, 1918 paper]

Mrs. Martha Jenkins died June 21, 1918 at home of her son, Mono Jenkins near Knox Butte. She was 88 years and 1 day old, came from Minnesota. Three children: Mrs. Henry Mills of Salem; W. H. Jenkins of Jefferson; and Mono Jenkins of Knox Butte. Providence cemetery, Scio. [June 21, 1918 paper]

Mrs. Albert Lucas, age 67, died near Rickreall. Body brought to Scio and was interred in Masonic cemetery there. Husband, three sons, one daughter, no names mentioned. [June 21, 1918 paper]

Alfred Allen, of Portland, died Friday morning at Seaside. He was well known in Lebanon and was interested in real estate with the late George A. Waggoner, the two owning the Mountain View addition to Lebanon. No names mentioned as survivors. [July 4, 1918 paper]

Vic. Vehrs came to Lebanon Saturday to attend funeral of his brother-in-law, Erie Zoph. [July 12, 1918 paper]

Erie Zoph, died July 4, 1918, age 31 years, 4 months, 10 days. Born at Halfway, OR, Feb. 24, 1887. Brother W. H. Zoph. Married Nov. 30, 1912 to Miss Ida Devine, who died at Enterprise, OR, Sept. 27, 1916. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zoph. Brother: Norman Zoph of Berkley, CA; sister Mrs. Victoria Vehrs, of Condon, OR. [July 12, 1918 paper]

Gail Powell, 18-month old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Powell, died Tuesday as a result of indigestion caused by eating cherries and ice cream. Burial at Berlin cemetery. [July 19, 1918 paper]

The Criterion was started by W.H. Brown in 1898. In 1911 it was sold to William Tell Fogel and in 1912 the name was changed to the Linn County Advocate. In November Brown foreclosed and it became the Criterion again. The Lebanon Tribune was established with T.L. Dugger as manager in 1912. In 1924 the Express and Criterion were sold to one owner.
