" This Indenture this 2d day of September Eighteen hundred and twenty three
between George W. Moore of the County of Clark and state aforesaid of the one
part and James Montgomery of the County of Jackson and state aforesaid of the
other part Witnesseth that the said George for and in consideration of the sum
of Eight hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath Granted and sold to the said James all that tract or parcel of
land containing two hundred and twenty seven acres being a part of five thousand
acres originally granted to Count DEstang beginning on a white oak on the East
side of the north fork of the oconee river & running thence S78W39 chs to a
pine thence S60W 34 C 60 links to a pine thence S 25 E 12 C 31 L to a
stake on the Creek thence down the meanders of said Creek to an ash thence S5 W
5 C to a P.O. thence S 43 W 9 C 50 L to a willow thence S 10 E 25 C 50 L to a
hickory thence N 71? E 38 C by 50 S to an ash on a branch!
thence down the meanders of said branch to the bank thence down said Creek
to the river thence to the beginning white Oak to have and to hold the said
George the premises aforesaid and every part thereof to the said James his heirs
& assigns & against all and every other person or persons shall and will
forever warrant and Defend In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal the day and date first above written

NATHANIEL C. JARRETT & administrator of HOWEL JARRETT to DAVID H. MCCLESKEY, Book H, page 199
"This Indenture made & entered into this 21st day of January eighteen
hundred & twenty five between Nathaniel C. Jarrett & administrator of
Howel Jarrett and of the one part & David H. McCleskey of the other part
Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in
hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained & sold
& do by these presents bargain & sell unto the said David H. McCleskey
his heirs & assigns &c all that tract or parcel of land situate lying
& being in the County afoesaid on the waters of little marys? creek
containing one hundred & fifty seven & half acres be the same more or
less being part of an original survey granted to Howel Jarrett deceased to have
& to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances
thereunto belonging to his own proper use benefit & behoof forever & I
the said Nathaniel C. Jarrett Administrator as aforesaid will warrant &
forever defend the right & title of the premise!
s aforesaid unto the said David H. McCleskey his heirs & assigns forever
from me my heirs & assigns & from all & every other person or
persons whatever as far as the right is in me ? as Administrator aforesaid Given
