MR. CARLOSS
Retired manager
JEFFERSON - Charles Thurman "Chuck" Carloss, 74, died Friday, June
1, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended
illness.
A native of Lebanon, Tenn., Mr. Carloss was born December 13, 1926.
He was a son of the late Barter Cole and Thelma Allen McFarland
Carloss.
Mr. Carloss was a retired manager with Porter Truss Co., Jefferson,
and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson.
He was also a member of the Jefferson Lions Club, the Dryden
Veterans Association, the Jefferson Dragon Booster Club and the
Almont Dryden Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the First
United Methodist Church of Jefferson with the Rev. Gary Whatley
officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. J.B.
Benson, James Black, Keith Gilbert, Don Porter, Dwight Porter, Jimmy
Pruitt, Ed Thompson and Tabo Tolbert served as pallbearers.
Mr. Carloss is survived by his wife, Evelyn Carloss, Jefferson; two
sons, Brian Carloss, Buford, and William Charles "Bill" Carloss,
Jefferson; one sister, Kate Arnold, Lebanon, Tenn.; and three
grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 188
Martin Street, Jefferson, GA 30549.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
