                  Mrs. Mary Frances Carter, 73, of Statham, died Sunday, 
                  February 2, 2003, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
                  Mrs. Carter was born December 17, 1929, in Franklin County. 
                  She was a daughter of the late Thomas Seaborn and Ammie Bonds 
                  Cromer.
                  She was a homemaker.
                  Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, in 
                  the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the 
                  Revs. Douglas Duncan and Russell Page officiating. Burial was 
                  in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
                  Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Maxie Lee Carter, 
                  Statham; one son, David Carter, Statham; three daughters, 
                  Debra Brock and Wanda Carter, both of Statham, and Brenda 
                  Palmer, Braselton; five brothers, Carson Cromer, Martinsville, 
                  Va., Doyle Cromer, J.C. Cromer and William Cromer, all of 
                  Commerce, and Mitchell Cromer, Baldwin; one sister, Faye 
                  Jenkins, Commerce; and five grandchildren.
                  Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
