This census is arranged by land districts. Currently, we do not know where most of the people for which we have information were living, hence the "unknown" file. There is no index. As more information is gained on each family, additions and corrections may be made, or they may be moved from one file to another (i.e. from the "unknown" file to a certain land district). If you have any information on these families, please e-mail me.
The columns left to right are: number (used to differentiate between the families), surname, given name, birth year, place of birth, and remarks. Maiden names are given in parentheses. The remarks column is used to provide additional information on this family, such as why we believe they were in Rabun County in 1820, who the children married, and so forth. Explanations of some of the definitions can be found below.
In 1819, the Georgia Legislature passed an act establishing the county of Rabun which appointed nine men as Commissioners for superintending the election of Justices of the Inferior Court; these men are denoted with an *.
