This transcription was made using CenTrans, a file-making program developed by the USGenWeb Census Project. It does not render an exact duplicate of the census, as some entries are assumed (such as last names, where traditionally the transcriber would use ditto or other marks to carry the surname from family member to family member) and others were added (i.e. Soundex codes and remarks column, which I deleted in this version). However, the ease of transcription development using this program far outweighs any negative aspects of the output.
This census was organized first by state, then by Supervisory District, then by Enumeration District, and then by township or local division. Rabun County was in S.D. 1, and was divided into E.D.s 171 (Tennessee Valley, Persimmon, and Moccasin), 172 (Tallulah, Clayton, and the Town of Clayton), and 173 (Stonepile, Tiger, Chechero, and Warwoman). The pages are numbered according to this scheme and not according to the stamped numbers (171-01 instead of 47B).
