Notes: This book actually covers the years 1856 through 1878. Estate records were recorded on pages 7 through 275 and 277 through 278. Homestead exemptions were recorded on pages 276 and 280 through 356, dating from 1870 - 1878. The estate records stop around 1869/1870. The estate index is arranged by testator only. The homestead index is arranged by the person who applied for the exemption. Other information may be included in the homestead index, such as the spouse's name, but only if it was part of the original record. Any record that was not an estate or homestead is listed at the bottom in order of its appearance in the minutes.
