Old Cartoogechaye Baptist Church Cemetery
Macon Co., NC

Surveyed July 28, 2002

Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 441. and Hwy 64 in Franklin near the McDonald's, take Hwy. 64W toward Murphy. Go about 6.2 miles then turn left onto West Old Murphy Road. Go about 7/10 of a mile. Turn left onto Papa's Mountain Road. Go about 1/10 of a mile. Take the first dirt road to the right. The cemetery is at the end of the road to the left and up the hill.

Notes: there were many, many unmarked graves in this cemetery; some may have been overlooked. Some dates disagreed with the old WPA survey made in 1941 by Mr. Horace J. Hurst. Where possible, those discrepencies have been noted.
