State of North Carolina No 2 Know ye that we for and in consideration of the Sum of five Dollars for every hundred Acres hereby granted paid unto our treasury by Wiliam Roland hath given and granted and by these Presents do give and grant unto the said William Roland alot[?] of land Containing fifty Acres lying and being in the County of Macon on the West Side of Tennessee River Sitiated in District No. 17 Begining at a Chesned tree the North East Corner of tract No 777 Runing thenc North Eighty poles to a Stake thence West one hundred poles to a Hickry on the top of a hill thenc South Eighty poles to a Stake thenc East one Hundred poles to the begining Entered the 2nd Day of May 1836 as by the plat hereunto amend[?] Doth appear together With all Woods Waters Mines Minerals and Hereditements and appertenances to the land belonging an[d] appertaining to hold to the Said William Roland his heirs and Assigns for ever yealding and paying to us Such Sums of Money yearly and[?] otherwise as our general Assembly from time to time may Direct Provided at may that the Said grantee Shall Cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our Said County of Macon Within twelve Months from the Date here of otherwise the Same Shall be void In testimony Whereof We have Caused these our letters to be Made [illegible] our grat Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Dobbs Shaught Esquire our[?] governor Captain general and Command in in [sic] Chief at Ralieght the 30th Day of September in the 61st year of our Independance and the year of our lord one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty six by Command
