Mr. Henry Dills, of Cartoogechaye, died at 8 o'clock Saturday morning of old age, being 88 years old.

Mrs. Elisabeth Daves, of Burningtown, died at 10 o'clock last Wednesday at the age of 97 years.


Mr. John Ledford, of Skeenah, about three miles from Franklin, died of heart disease at 3 o'clock last Sunday at the age of a little over 70 years.


Death of Mr. W. A. McCoy.

Mr. W. A. McCoy, of Dillsboro, died about one o'clock last Thursday. His remains were brought to Franklin Friday evening and buried at 11 o'clock Saturday by the side of his first wife in the Baptist cemetery. Mrs. McCoy, his second wife, Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Tennant, Thomas McCoy, of Asheville, and Charles and General McCoy, and Miss Emma McCoy, of Dillsboro, accompanied the remains. Mr. McCoy was 67 years of age at the time of his death. He lived a great many years in Franklin before removing to Dillsboro.

Mr. W. G. Stanfield, a highly respected citizen of Sugarfork township, died last Sunday.
