Cemeteries

The Swain County Historical Society wrote me a nasty e-mail on May 12, 2003 accusing me of violating the copyright they hold on the published cemetery surveys for that county, without asking where the surveys came from, or what right I or the person who donated them might have to this particular collection, without being polite or professional; they simply assumed that neither I nor the person who donated this material had any legal right to it. Anyone who knows me knows that I would never knowingly violate anyone's copyright for any reason, so until I can determine if the person who sent these surveys actually did the work themselves or if they copied these records from the published work, the cemeteries of this county that were donated for placement on this site will not be available here. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime, if you are looking for a cemetery survey for this county, I suggest that you do not use the surveys published by that Society, as they are the most rude and ignorant people I have ever had the misfortune to have dealings with.
