JOHN W. (WES) HUBBARD

J. W. Hubbard was born March 20, 1879 at Deer Creek, Minn., son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Hubbard. They moved to South Dakota when he was 3 years old. They settled on a farm north of Clark and moved to town in 1889. He married Hester Hubbard in 1899. Six children were born to this union.

He married Anna Schultz in 1940. They lived on a farm near Crandall, later moving to Clark. For many years he had managed elevators and the last few years he was justice of peace.

He passed away December 28 at Memorial Hospital in Watertown after a lingering illness.

Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by his first wife, two daughters, one son, two sisters, two brothers and one step-son.

Those surviving Mr. Hubbard are his widow, Anna Hubbard; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Avaline) Karber of Clark; Mrs. Gleo (Helen) Stewart of The Dalles, Oregon and Beatrice Anderson of Minneapolis; one son, Loyal of Elmhurst, Ill.; a brother Charley of Clark; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Vesta) Audus of Clark, and Mrs. Rena Elliot; seven grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; four step children and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hubbard was a member of the Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
