New Stones

During the past few months, individuals have purchased a number of stones for graves without markers. Some of these are not listed in "FOOTPRINTS." You might like to add these to your copy. |

Linda Coppock bought and placed a stone at Robert Lett Cemetery for a Slave Child
buried there during the Civil War years. This was the first burial at this cemetery.
Margaret Freemon purchased stones for two Carr babies (Cleo, 1894, and Infant Carr, 1892), children of James and Emma (Perry) Carr. All are buried at Isaac Shelby Cemetery. A memorial stone was placed for a third Carr child, Ester, 1909-CA 1913. Margaret had stones placed at Big Barren Memorial Cemetery for Preston and Melinda Needham Carr.

Sam and Bonnie Peters put stones at Lane Cemetery for Sarah Kennon Lane, b.1816-d. after 1893 and Rebecca T. Lane, b. 1855-d. after 1889.
Markers purchased by Ruth Monroe include Peter Lower, D. 1838 and Catherine Zimmerly Lower (Lowery), D.1842, Thomas Whited, CA. 1788, DEC. 1854 and Martha Sheckles Browning, 1810-187?. These stones were placed at Big Barren Memorial Cemetery. Lynn Sexton did the surveys to determine the burial sites for the placing of these stones. |
