She belonged to Immanuel United Church of Christ, was a 40-year member of Rebecca Lodge and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all at Ellinwood. On Aug. 4, 1939, she married Roy M. Griffin at Tulsa, Okla. He died July 5, 1990.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Sue Griffin; two brothers, Charles and Edgar Owens; and two sisters, Anna Mae Crabtree and Josephine Baldridge. |

Eva was born in Salina, KS on July 11,1921, the youngest of five children . Eva spent her early years and attended school in Ellinwood, KS. Eva married Norman J. Kowalsky on Jan. 20, 1945. In 1955, Norman and Eva moved to Attica, KS and founded Pork's Welding Service, which they operated together until Norman's death in 1965. Eva was then editor of the Attica Independent newspaper for a number of years, but later moved to the Wichita area and worked at Wesley Medical Center until her retirement in 1986. |

She was a graduate of David City High School, David City, Neb., and attended Sterling College. She was a member of Modern Literature Club, served on the Ellinwood City Library Board of Directors, was a long-standing member on the Board of Ellinwood District Hospital and Board of Ellinwood Area Health Care Foundation. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Wilson. |
