Gibson, Donald W. 1-24-2006 8-4-1933 b. Emporia ks Lyon co, d. wichita, S/O Wallace Edward and Hazel Florence (Pearce) Gibson. Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall E. Gibson and brother, Curtis G. Gibson. He then owned Gibson's Hallmark Card and Gifts for 15 years in Great Bend. For 17 years he worked for First National Bank of Great Bend. He then handled pre-need planning for Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in Great bend and also for Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington from 1988-1998. In 1998, Don and his wife, Delores returned to Emporia to take care of pre-need planning for Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Don belonged to the following organization of Great Bend: Sunflower Shrine, where he served as President and Treasurer, Masonic Lodge, Convention Bureau Board, Chamber of Commerce Board, Ambassadors (President for 2 terms), United Way Board (President), Cougar Booster Club (President), 3 I Show Chairman (2 terms), Hospice Volunteer, Fund Drive Chairman of Billy Graham Crusade, and Associate Guardian Job's Daughters. Don belonged to the following organization of Emporia: Arab Shrine Temple, Arab Shrine Mini-T's, Neosho valley Shrine (current Vice-President), Emporia Chamber of Commerce, Lyon County Fair Board (President for 3 terms).
Huff, Mable Mae (LaBrant)
10-13-1904 11-10-2004 b. Weir  KS  Cherokee co, d. Wichita, D/O Calvin Ray & Maude Sells La Brant. wed Clifton Blair on 6-9-1929 in Pittsburg KS  Dr. Clifton Huff passed away 6-13-1988 Emporia KS-Professor o Education & Sociology at KS State Teachers College. Mable was  an elementary school teach in Pineville MO; Joplin MO;& Pittsburg KS, she rec'd the Life Certificate in Elementary Education in 1926
Longbine, Gregory S. 3-11-1990 8-10-2005 b. Emporia ks Lyon co, d. wichita, S/O Jeff and Gwen (Yarnell) Longbine. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rich Longbine. Greg was to be a sophmore at Emporia High School, where he was a member of the Football, Basketball and golf teams. He was also a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Kansas Cougars Basketball team.

Winter, C. Everett 8-20-1913 9-9-2005 b. Emporia ks Lyon co, d. Medicine Lodge ks Barber co, S/O Charles Albert and Grace Hoffman Winter. A resident of Medicine Lodge since 1998, moving from Emporia, he was a farmer, plant manager of Victory Creamery, and worked at Emporia Electric Company for 28 years, retiring in 1988. He was a Sunday School Teacher and a Scout master for Boy Scouts for a number of years, and he received the Silver Beaver award. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Fern Bannister.
