3-24-1919 12-25-2004   b. Medicine Lodge KS Barber co, d. Kiowa ks barber co, Retired from farming at the age of 83. Preceded in death by his mother, Alice Tharp and brother, Jerry Tharp. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Mason with a 32nd degree for 65 years. Cecil served in the Army from 8-27-42 to 10-45 as a PFC in infantry, receiving Purple Heart, Bronze Star, President Unit Emblem and many more.
Clark, DeAlva Francis 3-8-1909 10-2-2005   b. Elmwood OK Beaver co, d. Kiowa KS Barber co, D/O Claude and Nettie Wilson McCune. She attended Garrett Grade School and graduated from Beaver High School in 1929. Moving to Kiowa in 1968, she was a former resident of Elmwood, Okla., and Cherokee, Okla. In 1960, she opened Clark's Fabric Shop, Kiowa, and celebrated 28 years in business in May 1988. On Oct. 10, 1937, she married Walter Reece Clark in Cherokee. He died in 1988. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

She attended a country school, graduated from Hardtner High School and attended Emporia State College. She worked for Kiowa Sale Company as a bookkeeper and for Hood Lumber until retiring in 1993. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Roberts; and two sisters, Tillie and Opal Roberts.

A resident of Wichita, formerly of Guymon, Okla., Ponca City, Okla., and Kiowa, he was a farmer. He worked at the flour mill in Kiowa, Fred Schupbach Plumbing for eight years, and Kiowa O.K. Grain for 26 years, retiring in 1982. He served with the 20th Corp of Engineers under General Patton. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Riggenbach, Frieda (May) 11-22-1921  6-13-2005   b. Amorita OK Alfalfa co, d. Alva OK Woods Co, D/O Goldie and Steward May. She attended Mulberry Center School in the mid 30s. She graduated from Kiowa High School in 1939. A resident of Alva, formerly of Wichita and Burlington, she was a homemaker. She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Kiowa, UMW, the Happy Day Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.On Feb. 7, 1942, she married Clifford Riggenbach at Alva, Okla. He preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven; and a sister, Lois Jean Koppitz.
Schrock, LaMoine G.
1-16-1932 10-6-2004   b. Anthony ks Harper co, d. Pinehurst NC, Retired farmer, died at First Health Medical Center in Pinehurst, NC. S/O George & Emma Schrock. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Wiley, Helen J. 1-25-1924 10-24-2005   b. Alfalfa Co OK, d. Kiowa ks Barber co, D/O Homer and Nellie Jefferies Snodderly. On March 24, 1945, she and Harold L. Wiley were united in marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and daughters, Helen Jayne Hossfeld and Jan Wiley.
