LANEY SMITH CEMETERY
W line of SW, Section 29, T37N, R7W
South Dillon Township, Rolla, Phelps County, MO
Denise Seevers and I walked this entire cemetery on Oct. 4, 2004. This is an unkept cemetery. I don't believe anyone has taken care of it in quite a few years. The brush and undergrowth made it very hard to find many stones. We have recorded the ones we did find and that we could read. Very sad cemetery. To get to this cemetery from Rolla, Phelps County, MO. take Highway O South to county Road 5120 and turn left. This road winds around for about 2 1/2 miles until you come to County Road 5150 and turn right. This road dead ends at the cemetery. At the beginning of the cemetery you will find a Head stone with the words Laney Smith memorial Lane & Garden. The stone is hidden behind a couple trees that have grown up right in the front of it.
