Ramsey Cemetery

Denise Seevers and I walked this cemetery in October of 2004.  It is a beautiful little cemetery.  Well taken care of.  I didn't find any broken stones.  There were still some flowers left over from Memorial Day.  Last burial seemed to be in 1999.  Several of the stones are home made from concrete with names written in the wet cement.  Directions to this cemetery:  From I-44 take the Jerome exit #172.    Turn right onto D Highway.    Travel approx 9 miles and turn right on Highway 28 (follow hwy 28 to the right when the road takes a hard curve).  Travel approx 5 miles on and turn right onto M Highway.  Travel approx 5 more miles on turn left onto CR 9020 (**at Y in road stay straight coming off paved M hwy onto gravel, it becomes CR 9050 but you won't truly notice that until you begin to travel back).  Travel less than a mile and you will come to a gate.    The cemetery is just on the other side of the gate on the left side of the road.    There is no No Trespassing sign and the owners did not mind us going in as long as we kept the gate shut.    You could park on the outside of the gate if you wish –graveyard is just right there.

There has been a  February 2005 burial but I have not gotten the information.

Other information I was able to obtain was that the field stones that are in this cemetery are said to be slave graves.  I have no listing as to what their names or identity might have been.
