Republican; member of the M. E. Church. He commenced carrying the mail in 1850, from Fairfield to Bloomington, and continued about sixteen years.

His mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Wilson, lives with him; she was born Jan. 1, 1784, in Fayette Co., Penn.; is enjoying good health.
