In order that students may have an opportunity for distinction along scholastic lines and Honor Society open to Seniors has been inaugurated this year in C.R.H.S. A student may take four examinations covering four different braches of study during his Junior and Senior years and by making a grade of ninety in each become a member of the society. Or he may wait until his senior year and by successively answering five out of seven questions in a comprehensive examination be entitled to membership in the society.
Those becoming members are awarded a gold insignia in the shpe of a small globe with wings—representing progress—attached to it. On the globe is a Greek letter which stands for Sophrosyne, or a well balanced and wholesome mind. Thus the whole pin is indicative of the progress made in the world by a well trained mind.
On the opposite page are the pictures of those passing successfully the examinations in English and Mathematics. For each examination passed the student receives a bronze pin with the letter signifying in which branch he has competed. When four bronze pins have been received a person is entitled to a gold one and membership in the Honor Society.
