Training the Army of the U. S. A. Our boys underwent a well-balanced course of physical training. When this photograph was taken at Camp Hancock, Ga., there were 10,000 of them going through their setting-up exercises.

Wooden horses used for preliminary training at a cavalry camp in the United States. These horses, of course, were not to be used as was the wooden horse in the siege of Troy. Uncle Sam had a shortage of real horses.
